I did more or less the same when I was tour-guiding in all the Americas for four years as from 1974 when group travels were just the new thing, there were no computers, all was done by hand still, in the South we sometimes were sharing an aircraft with beef halves in our back, often machines would not work and we had to wait…many stories. I wrote a book ‘Die Welt ist mein Zuhause’ (The World is my Home) with the stories and recipes, my experiences, I collected in those days. Nowadays, tourists hardly seek these experiences, the true travelers are but few. You are travelers of the old kind.
