In reply to Eric Gamble. One of the reasons we went with Allianz is because it is so affordable. While the price might be painful initially, the peace of mind is well worth it, especially for a multi-trip annual plan. Something to definitively budget for :) Thanks, Eric.

Having experienced firsthand the benefits of using travel insurance, I’m a huge proponent or purchasing it. I always use TravelGuard so haven’t tried Allianz. Really surprised that they covered your root canal, will have to check them out.

As you rightly mentioned, there are so many reasons to ensure travel insurance…missed flights, lost luggage, theft, electronics protection etc are just a few. There should be something for stolen passports too 🙂

So Darcee & I have gotten travel insurance a few times but it always pains me to spend the money on a policy but I guess if for $500/year it isn’t too painful if you travel a few times. As for your situation, that sounds miserable to suddenly have a dental issue. I guess it was very worth it. I would totally be lost if I suddenly need a dental procedure which I recently just had one too so I understand the pain (literally!)
Love the yearly rate….definitely going to have to discuss with darcee about using Allianz Travel Insurance for our 2020 travel plans!

I never know whether to get travel insurance and which options are truly worth the cost, so this has been truly enlightening! It definitely sounds like Allianz is an awesome provider with how well your dental claim went. And I think you’re right that having travel insurance will just make the planning, prep and trip itself much less stressful.
